MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL COMMITTEE

We are looking for volunteers to help with the Mid-Autumn Festival Organizing Committee. There are specific roles we are trying to fill which are listed below but we are also looking for anyone who is willing to be a part of the core volunteer group that helps ensure that the Festival happens! MAF Coordinators: Food, Carnival, Stage, Arts, Security, Set Up/Site, Clean Up/Wrap Up, Volunteers, Sales.

Assistant Fundraiser (bilingual; English- and Chinese-speaking) (1)

We are looking for someone to help Betty Lui contact Chinatown businesses to ask them to support the Mid-Autumn Festival by purchasing ads or providing donations. Duties include contacting businesses; coordinating ad submissions and payments; greeting and checking in with organizations to make sure they are set up and provided for (e.g. tents, tables, electricity) on the day of the festival, follow-up and thank yous after the festival; communicating with the Mid-Autumn Festival Committee and AAU staff.

MAF Intern/Coordinators’ Assistant (1)

We are looking for someone to provide general support to the coordinators, especially before and after the event. This person would provide support in general logistical planning and checking in at meetings with the MAF committee members and AAU staff before the event. After the event, he/she would help to organize program files/notes, evaluation for next year, and write the thank you letters and community service letters for the volunteers. It would be a great learning opportunity to get an overview of the festival.
